News & Announcements
MacLeod Elementary School hosted a Family Engagement Event on Friday, April 1st. Parents were invited to a Family TJ’s Pizza Hot Lunch and Ukraine Fundraiser! Our parents pre-ordered pizzas for their family. We set up tables and chairs in our Gym for 350 people as well as the Library. We covered tables in blue and yellow tablecloth’s and centrepieces. We had moms, dads, grandparents and siblings join us for lunch! What engagement! We had between 700-800 members of our school community in attendance! After enjoying pizza together, families toured our school and classrooms. Our school was filled to capacity and we loved every minute of it! Everyone was so happy to be together and it was a fabulous way to end the week!
SECPSD's Safe Schools Plan 2021-22 has been developed to support a safe return to school for students and staff.
MacLeod Elementary School wrapped up our One School One Book event with a fun lemonade themed Family Literacy event. Our book for One School One Book was the Lemonade Wars. Education Week, from October 17 to 23, celebrates student success and the hard work and dedication of education professionals across the province. This year's theme is Learning for the Future. We encourage citizens to take some time during this special week to recognize the importance education has on our students and communities.
On Wednesday, October 20th the students of MacLeod will be celebrating Education Week by dressing up in what they want to be when they grow up. Some of the adults may be dressing up as something they might like to do after they retire, another job that they might have wanted to do or just another career that interests them. We look forward to some amazing costume ideas from our students!
